Our Story
Anoma creates wearable sculptures, inspired by the rich world beyond watchmaking.
We draw inspiration from art, architecture, nature, and beyond, to craft designs that feel both strikingly new and deeply familiar.
Our goal is to embody a more experimental and daring vision of watchmaking, breaking free from traditional constraints.
This is not the conventional approach. Hence our name, Anoma, which is short for anomaly.
Our watches are imagined in London and made in Switzerland. We bring together designers, artists, creatives, suppliers, and artisans to bring our vision to life.
Our Inspiration

The A1's rounded triangular shape was inspired by a 1950s free form table by Charlotte Perriand. We first came across one in a Parisian antique gallery a few years ago.

We were also inspired by the organic softness of river stones, valued for their tactile and inherently pleasing nature.

The 1930s modernist sculptures of Constantin Brancusi deeply influenced us, particularly in their ability to convey movement and create tension by contrasting thick and thin sections.

Creative Director
Matteo Violet-Vianello
Matteo’s passion for watches began in childhood, when he started disassembling vintage pieces discovered in a drawer at his family home in Paris.
He later worked at Sotheby’s, before becoming one of the first employees at A Collected Man, a leading platform for rare watches.
Over four years at A Collected Man, he studied and sourced exceptional timepieces, worked closely with independent watchmakers, and helped shape the platform’s editorial voice.
Matteo is also an Academy Member of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).
