The unique Anoma A1 Time for Art was auctioned at Phillips for $12,700 in December 2024. All the proceeds were donated to charity as part of the first and only watch auction designed to directly benefit contemporary artists.
The dial of this unique piece features an engraved pattern inspired by Optical Art, an artistic movement that transforms simple geometric patterns into captivating illusions.
A sequence of slightly offset triangles is repeated across the dial, creating a captivating optical illusion that gives the dial a sense of three-dimensionality and dynamic light play. The optical pattern is engraved directly into the metal base, and then coated in several layers of black lacquer, enhancing its glossy finish and the sensation of depth.

"This new piece keeps the art and design vibes strong with a trippy dial inspired by the paintings of Bridget Riley and Ferruccio Gard. Distinction, Anoma."
